Fortune is a North American eating apple with a spicy flavour. It flowers twice a year but cannot pollinate itself, making it quite difficult to grow and tricky to find in the shops. They are crunchy and sweet and make a good dessert apple.
In English we will begin by looking at Traditional tales, such as 'Little Red Riding Hood'. We will then delve into our curriculum topic based on the Amazon Rainforest. We will be writing in different formats, such as a diary and an information text. The writing will be linked to our class text 'The Great Green Forest' by Paul Geraghty.
In Maths we will be continuing with building our recall for the 2, 5, 10 times tables, looking at both multiplication and division. We will also be looking at statistics (charts and pictograms) and geometry (properties of shapes).
Our topic this term is ' What makes a forest a rainforest?' We will be learning about how the location of rainforests affect their climate, with a comparison to our own climate. We will also be looking at the 4 layers of the rainforest. This will link to our Science topic 'Plants'.
For further information about what we are doing this term, please see our Topic Web attached below.
