Term 4

In English we will be using the story 'Flanimals' by Ricky Gervais to engage and help inspire the children's creative writing. We will be using this text to write about our flanimals in both a Non-fiction and Fiction style.

In Maths we will be continuing to build our recall for the 2, 5, 10 times tables, looking at both multiplication and division. We will also be looking at fractions (unit, non-unit and equivalent fractions), shape (vertices, faces and edges), statistics and measurements.

Our topic this term is ' What do animals need to survive in different habitats?' We will be learning about our own location within Europe and developing our geographical vocabulary. We will be looking at different animals and their habitats within and outside of Europe. This will link to our Science topic 'Living things and their habitats'.

For further information about what we are doing this term, please see our Topic Web attached below.

Please could you ensure that your child is reading a minimum of 3 times a week, as this is important for their education.

Also, the children have been given Times Table Rockstar log ins. It is a website to help them practise their times tables, it encourages children to beat their scores, whilst improving their fluency.

The children have been given Spelling Shed log ins, it is a website to help them practise for their weekly spelling check (Friday).

Please let us know if you have any issues when accessing the websites. Links are provided below.
