Term 2

Term 2

Our Big Question for the term is 'Why was the Titanic said to be unsinkable?', which links our Science topic 'Every Day Materials' with our History topic 'Modern History'.

Our English writing this term will be centered around the Titanic. We will be writing to inform, creating information texts and writing letters imagining that we were on the Titanic. Children will be encouraged to continue playing on Spelling Shed, which is an online resource to support them with their spellings at home. These spellings will be tested each Friday.

In Maths, we will be learning how to use pictorial representations to help us solve addition and subtraction calculations. Throughout this term, we will embed the 10x table. Please consider ways to group or share amounts up to 120 in 10s.

We will also look a money, so any opportunities to use money or talk about the different coins and notes will be beneficial. The children will continue to be encouraged to use Time Tables Rockstars to support their in-school learning of the 2, 5 and 10 times table facts.
