Welcome to a brand new academic year! We are so excited to welcome all our new Year 4 pupils to Enterprise and Victory classes and hope everyone settled in quickly! We have an action packed year of learning planned for the year ahead and hope all the children enjoy the topics. As well as learning about Topics like 'Romans', 'Ancient Greece', and 'Electricity' we hope to start ukulele lessons in term 2 and a whole host of other creative activities are planned too.
Of course, after so long away from school, for many there will be a period of settling in. We begin the year looking at the book 'Here We Are' as a stimulus for exploring our thoughts and feelings about recent events and how we can be ready for school again.
If you have any questions, do get in touch. We are here to help!
Mr Gates and Miss Still
PE is on THURSDAYS. Children should come to school wearing their kit.
Please make sure you do at least fifteen minutes of reading per day. See below for a great website full of ideas for books you might like to try and find. You could even print off the checklist and tick them off as you read them. Have fun!
Homework overviews will be set at the beginning of each new term. One task will be assigned to the children on Edmodo, for them to complete and upload each week.
Spellings will be set on a Friday and tested the following Friday. The children will have logins to access Spelling shed, along with this, a list of spellings will be available to practise on Edmodo. The children will also have the opportunity to practise their spellings on Tuesdays in the computing suite.
Children are expected to practise their multiplication on Times Tables Rockstars. There will be a focus on two different times tables per week. We will also have access to the Computing Suite on a Tuesday, where the children can play TTRS.
Every week, we celebrate the achievement of a pupil (or pupils) by awarding STAR WRITER! This could be for making progress with content, handwriting, presentation or general writing skills.
Congratulations this week to Drake in Enterprise.
Congratulations this week to Curtis in Victory.
