Welcome to Term 5!

Welcome to Term 5!  We hope you had a lovely Easter break and didn't eat too many Easter eggs!

We have an exciting term of learning ahead of us.  We will be learning about Ancient Greece and reading a range of Greek Myths.  Lots of you have been asking about this so I know you are excited to find out about some amazing mythical creatures.  We will also investigate some key events in Ancient Greek history and look closely at architecture and fashion.

As lock down continues to ease across the country, we will continue to support the children through the changes that are happening.  We remain in our Year 4 bubble so be assured that school routines remain the same.

If you have any questions, do get in touch.

Take care and keep safe!

Miss Still and Mr Gates

Year 4 Weekly Timetable

PE

PE is on THURSDAYS. Children should come to school wearing their kit.

Reading

Please make sure you do at least fifteen minutes of reading per day. See below for a great website full of ideas for books you might like to try and find. You could even print off the checklist and tick them off as you read them. Have fun!

Homework

Homework overviews will be set at the beginning of each new term. One task will be assigned to the children on Edmodo, for them to complete and upload each week.

Spellings will be set on a Friday and tested the following Friday. The children will have logins to access Spelling shed, along with this, a  list of spellings will be available to practise on Edmodo. The children will also have the opportunity to practise their spellings on Tuesdays in the computing suite.

Children are expected to practise their multiplication on Times Tables Rockstars. There will be a focus on two different times tables per week. We will also have access to the Computing Suite on a Tuesday, where the children can play TTRS.

Star Writers!

Every week, we celebrate the achievement of a pupil (or pupils) by awarding STAR WRITER! This could be for making progress with content, handwriting, presentation or general writing skills.

Congratulations this week to Finn in Enterprise.

Congratulations this week to Archie and Darcy in Victory.
