Year 4

Year 4 Update - (Week beginning 25th May)

Hi everyone,

Happy half term! We hope you are well and enjoying the sun in a socially distant sort of way. Instead of setting English and Maths as we have been doing, we are taking a week off and giving you a half term challenge! Have a go at completing as many of the different activities as you can and don't forget to take photos.  Have a great week everyone!

Still here for you,

School Closure - Home Learning

Hi Year 4,

We hope you are all well and keeping safe whilst the school is closed. We miss seeing you each day and hope to see you soon. Whilst you are not in school, learning can still happen however. We hope that the activities on the website will be an opportunity for you to investigate your own interests, keep you occupied with fun tasks and help you to learn.

Please continue to practise your spelling and maths using Spelling Shed, Sumdog, NumberGym, Phonics Play and Rockstars and keep up with your daily reading.

Do look at the weekly themed challenges that are set on the previous pages. You will find activities here too that we will add to as time goes on.

Please be reassured that we do not expect that you complete everything - our intention is just to give you some plenty of worthwhile learning activities to choose from.  We do encourage you to engage with the weekly topic lessons as there are lots of fun things there!

Stay safe everyone!

Maths - Home Learning

Teachers in Years 1-6 base their Maths planning on the White Rose Scheme of work.

The WR Maths team have prepared weekly maths lessons that follow the intended scheme of learning that children would be doing if in school.

Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete the activity successfully.

If you have any questions about the contest of these videos, please email the office@thamesviewprimary.medway.sch.uk

Paper copies available for all activities on class page or from the main school office.

Please click on the link below:

Please find the White Rose lessons below. We have attached maths lessons to recap Term 4 as well as some Term 5 challenges. We encourage you to review the skills taught this year. Please take your time to work through each, using the powerpoint to support your learning.

English - Home Learning

Here you will find a range of activities that can be completed in any order. It is good to practise your handwriting every day so get going!

Reading

Please make sure you do at least fifteen minutes of reading per day. Honestly though, with all the time available, you should aim to do lots more. See below for a great website full of ideas for books you might like to try and find. You could even print off the checklist and tick them off as you read them. Have fun!

Reading Comprehension (set 29th April)

The file below includes four different reading comprehension activities that we have actually read together in class earlier in the year. It would be great revision to read them again and answer the questions that go with them. I wonder if you will be able to better your score?

Each reading activity should take no more than 30 minutes, including reading time.
