 Term 2

We hope that your child has settled in well and feel comfortable with their new surroundings. We hope that they have developed relationships with the adults in their classrooms and have made friends with some of their peers.

Your child should be more familiar with the routines of the school day. They are as follows: The children will continue to have daily short phonic sessions, literacy and maths lessons. The children will also have many opportunities to play to learn which we call 'Busy Time'. The children will also take part in P.E, R.E / PSHE sessions throughout the week.

We incorporate the curiosity approach into our learning. Our classrooms have a neutral tone with many open ended natural resources for the children to discover. We encourage the children to become, 'thinkers and doers' and promote independence.

At Thames View we use a digital learning journal to record your child's year. It is called Tapestry and parents should now have activated their accounts and hopefully be receiving notifications of observations from the teaching staff. If you are still having issues please contact us.

This term we will have a parents evening (format - tbc) where we will be able to give you more information about how your child is settling in and their strengths / areas to work on. If you have any questions or concerns before then please reach out to us through Tapestry.

We are sorry that Reception has to close this week. Below are some activities to do whilst your child is at home.

Please upload any learning that you wish us to see, or that your child is proud of. Remember you can contact us through Tapestry by adding an observation if you have any questions.
